The day
What happened
Idol Exchange is MBK Center’s monthly showcase for idols, T-pop acts and actors, usually staged on the MBK Avenue activity area. Its December 2022 edition was themed “Before Christmas” and held on Sunday 4 December, and the mall’s own announcement put their agency’s artists at the top of the lineup.
For Freen Sarocha and Becky Armstrong the slot was about the music. GAP: The Series had been on air for two weeks, and the day ran under #IDOLEXCHANGExGAPost: the GAP soundtrack, live on a mall stage. The songs themselves are on the music page.
Why it matters
Same stage, different crowd
On 4 September they had stood on this stage as the cast of a series nobody had seen. On 4 December they came back as the leads of a series that had trended on Twitter since its first episode, with songs the audience already knew. In the two weeks that followed, Freen’s “Whisper” and Becky’s “Think Alike” each took OST of the Week on T-Pop Stage, the first entries on what is now a long awards page.
