What happened
KIS Beauty Store is a Thai multi-brand cosmetics retailer with branches in Central malls around the country. On Saturday 26 November 2022 it hosted KIS x GAP The Series, a promotional event built around GAP: The Series and its two leads, Freen Sarocha and Becky Armstrong.
The hashtag, #KISสักทีสีชมพู, is a play on words. The series’ Thai title is ทฤษฎีสีชมพู (“Pink Theory”), and สักที, which sounds close to the first word, means “at last” — so it reads as something like “KIS, pink at last.” Fans used it to share photos, clips and the pair’s interactions with each other through the event, and it became a trending topic that day. Entertainment media including Woop Magazine, EM Gossip and Superstar News TH posted from the event.
Why it matters
KIS comes back for two
KIS already knew them. In April 2022 it had hosted a meet and greet for the cast of Secret Crush On You at its Central Ladprao store, with Freen and Becky among six actors on the bill. Seven months later it came back for the two of them alone, a week into their own series. Every brand partnership recorded on the global highlights pages since follows from dates like this one, when a retailer first tested what their names could do for a shop floor.
