What happened

EFM FANDOM LIVE is the Thursday-night fandom program on the EFM94 radio station: one guest or pairing a week, on air from 20:30 to 22:00 and streamed live as a video show on the ATIME YouTube channel, with interview segments, mini-games and fans calling in. On Thursday 2 March 2023 the guests were Freen Sarocha and Becky Armstrong, introduced by the station as one of Thailand’s top female pairings, from GAP: The Series. Fans trended the night under #FREENBECKxFANDOMLIVE and #FREENBECKxEFM94, the tags they use whenever the two are on the show.

1. The fan housesThe show opened with the fans. Freen’s, Becky’s and the pairing’s fan houses each explained where their nicknames for the two came from, and said the pairing tag began before GAP ever aired, from early workshop moments.
2. How they metWith DJ Nan and DJ Dao, they went back to their first meeting: Becky the shy youngest on set, Freen looking sterner than she is, and a friendship that started on their first series together, where they played friends and had few scenes and a lot of time to go find something to eat.
3. Before actingFreen said she once wanted to be a writer and still writes down what is in her head at night. Becky said she wanted to be a singer, and talked about studying law online while acting.
4. Sam and MonNeither had led a series before. They talked about how far the characters were from themselves, and how fan feedback shaped the work as the series went out.
5. Fans on the lineCallers phoned in. One said watching the series felt like looking back over her own relationship.
6. Closing messagesFreen thanked fans for staying through good days and bad. Becky, in English, thanked international fans for pushing past the language barrier to support them.
7. Outside the studioThe broadcast itself is closed-door. Fans gather outside the building instead, and on their visits the two have come out to greet them once the show is over.
