The premise
What The Loyal Pin is about
Anin is a princess of a Thai royal household. Pin comes into that household as a child, and the two grow up in each other’s company — close in the way children are, before either of them has a word for it.
The series follows them into adulthood, where the closeness that was simple becomes something neither the household nor the era has room for. What makes it work is restraint: the story is carried in what the two of them cannot say to each other, and in a setting that makes saying it impossible.
Adapted from the novel by MonMaw, it ran for sixteen episodes through 2024. The full production record is on TheLoyalPinSeries.com.
Who they play
Pin & Princess Anin
Pin
Freen Sarocha
❖
Brought into the household as a child and never quite of it. Freen plays that position with warmth rather than resentment — which is what makes the ending land.
Princess Anin
Becky Armstrong
❖
Born into the household and bound by it. Becky plays her with the composure the role demands and the cracks underneath it — a performance built on what Anin is not allowed to do.

Why it travelled
A period piece that found a global audience
It had no streamer push behind it. What carried it was word of mouth, a fandom that organised, and a story people wanted to explain to their friends — which is why the numbers kept climbing long after the finale.
What the fandom did
The subtitle campaign
It started with English.
The Loyal Pin engagement group and @FBMediaSite, with help from @Tok4FB, MingerSubs and dedicated FreenBecky fans, got additional subtitles added to The Loyal Pin on YouTube — among them Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
A fan campaign that changed who could watch it.
