The day

What happened

“A Heart to be Heard” (พิพิธภัณฑ์ความรู้สึก) was a Valentine’s exhibition by the Thai artist Teayii, presented by Emporium and EmQuartier at Q Stadium on the M floor of The EmQuartier. Its line was that every heart has its own worth. Thirty hearts, thirty well-known people, five rooms for the seasons of the heart, each portrait built from an interview the artist had done with its subject. Entry was 250 baht, and the run was extended to 28 February 2023.

Freen Sarocha was one of the thirty. Her interview, titled “she is afraid, but not intimidated,” became the artwork, and a live talk with her was staged inside the exhibition. The session was private and ticketed, and it sold out within the first minute of going on sale. Fans followed it under #teayiixsrchafreen. Freen posted about it herself on 26 February.

Why it matters

Not a brand, not a series

Two weeks after the GAP finale, this is a rare entry in the archive that is neither promotion nor a fan meeting: an artist chose her as a subject, interviewed her, made a portrait from it, and then put her on a chair to talk about fear.
