Ministry of Commerce x IDF: The Loyal Pin MOI signing

On the afternoon of Wednesday 28 February 2024, the Ministry of Commerce and IDF signed a Memorandum of Intent to push Thai products and services onto the global stage through Girls’ Love series. Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Phumtham Wechayachai witnessed the signing, with Freen Sarocha and Becky Armstrong there as the leads of the new series, The Loyal Pin.

The ministry’s Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) led the project for the government side. The idea was to use the soft power of the series and the pair’s international fanbase to put Thai community products and services in front of a worldwide audience, building awareness and sales for small local makers. Two days earlier the minister had teased the deal on X under #MOCxIDF, pointing to the global fanbase the pair built with GAP The Series. On the day, fans pushed #MOCxIDF along with the phrases FREENBECKY NO.1 THAI GL and MOC IDF THE LOYAL PIN into X trends.
