Freen and Becky Give Stage Advice on DUO ONE Episode 2
Freen Sarocha and Becky Armstrong were back in their Chemistry Icon seats for DUO ONE Episode 2 on Saturday 26 September, and during the first stage round they gave one contestant some honest advice about connecting with an audience.
DUO ONE is Amarin TV’s new chemistry reality show, also streaming on Viu. Eighteen finalists, chosen from more than 1,000 applicants, compete in duos across singing, dancing and acting over a three-month run, with scores from the panel and votes from the audience. After one solo performance in the first stage round, Freen and Becky shared their notes on stage presence:

Freen“Let me add a little detail. Basically, when we’re watching you from the audience and you’re alone on stage, it’s a solo stage, right? I feel like you close your eyes a little too much. It makes us feel a little disconnected.”
Becky“But I understand. Sometimes when we’re singing, we can get lost in another world and just be in our own space, immersed in the song. But we also shouldn’t forget that there are a lot of people watching us. We have to communicate with them and tell them the story. I think this is something you can practice.”

It is advice both of them speak from experience on, after a year of their own solo stages, from fan meetings to Becky’s music releases. The show had a big start online too: the DUO ONE press conference reached 251.5M on X in 24 hours and trended No. 5 worldwide, one of the moments on the global highlights page.
