vivo launched its V40 Series 5G in Thailand on Thursday 29 August 2024 at Samyan Mitrtown Hall, under the Thai campaign line “ZEISS Portrait So Pro,” roughly “open portrait mode, and everyone shines.” Becky Armstrong was one of three celebrities vivo brought in as its “vivo Friends” to present the phones’ portrait photography on stage.

The two phones, the V40 5G and V40 Pro 5G, carry cameras co-engineered with ZEISS and focus on portraits, with IP68 water resistance. The V40 5G came in 12GB + 256GB at THB 15,999 and 12GB + 512GB at THB 17,999, in Stellar Silver, Nebula Purple and Sunglow Peach, and the V40 Pro 5G at THB 24,999. Pre-registration ran from 17 August, and both went on sale the day after the launch.

Becky’s work with the V40 carried on after launch night. Her photos with the V40 5G in Sunglow Peach appeared in Vogue Thailand, and in November 2024 vivo Philippines featured the same look for its own market.
