Met Gala 2025 — First Thai Actress to Attend

On Monday 5 May 2025, Freen Sarocha walked the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York for the Met Gala, becoming the first Thai actress to attend fashion’s biggest night. The 2025 gala opened the Costume Institute’s exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” with the dress code “Tailored for You.”

She attended as a brand ambassador for Maison Valentino, which had named her that January, after posting her personal invitation from Valentino and creative director Alessandro Michele from New York. Michele envisioned a custom look for the theme: an eggshell betulla wool crepe blazer with black fur trim and a delicate pink bow, layered over a mesh, gem-embroidered undershirt with floral appliqués, a flowing maxi skirt with a thigh-high slit, lace tights and Valentino Garavani accessories.
