On Wednesday 27 November 2024, Becky Armstrong joined L’Oréal Paris Thailand at a Stand Up Against Street Harassment pop-up booth at Park Silom, an open event for the public.

L’Oréal Paris launched Stand Up globally in 2020 with the NGO Right To Be (formerly Hollaback!). It teaches the 5Ds, five safe ways to respond when you witness or experience street harassment: Distract, Delegate, Document, Delay and Direct. By 2024 more than 2.5 million people in 44 countries had been trained.

The brand’s research with Ipsos puts street harassment among the biggest issues women face: in Thailand, 85% of women surveyed said they had experienced sexual harassment in a public space.

Stand Up came three months after Becky’s night at the L’Oréal Paris Elseve Extraordinary Oil gala, as her work with the brand grew. Her full L’Oréal story is on the L’Oréal Paris brand ambassador page.
